The Right Google My Business Post Image Size

The recommended Google My Business Post Image Size is 540 pixels (wide) and 405 pixels (long). The recommended image formats are PNG, JPG, or BMP formats.

DESIGN TIP: If you are unsure of where and how to get an image that is 540 X 405, Canva makes it easy to choose whatever image size you need for your project, and their library of professional templates might help you find the perfect image style and save you some time while you’re at it. You can use the “Create a Design” button in the top right corner and then click the “Custom Dimensions” option (see screenshot above) to enter the dimensions of your image.

Google My Business Cover Image Sizes

The correct dimension to be used is preferably the 4:3 ratio. While this is the most preferred image size ratio, you can experiment with other image sizes to find what works best.

Below are some of the best image dimensions you can use in your GMB posts. The numbers are widths and heights of the pictures respectively, while the dimensions are in pixels.

  • Default image size: 720*540
  • Maximum image size: 2120*1192
  • Minimum image size: 480*270
  • Aspect image ratio: 4:3

If you want your graphic to appear well centered on your Google My Business post, you should center the subject of the image horizontally and vertically for a good fit.

The Best Google My Business Post Logo Size

You can use a variety of dimensions for your Google My Business post. However, the recommended dimensions for your GMB logo should be 720*720 pixels. The minimum dimensions should range at 250*250 pixels.

Another essential factor to note when choosing the appropriate logo size for your GMB is that it should preferably be a square one. This is because whenever you want to upload a logo for your post and you want to crop it out, the tool assumes a square shape.

Therefore, having a square logo can help you crop your image in the best resolution possible. While cropping, if your logo size isn’t in the ratio mentioned above, you can scale the logo up to the recommended 720*720 dimensions.

How to Pick the Right Image for My Google My Business Post

Picking the correct image for your GMB post can do more for you than you imagine. It is estimated that about 5% of GMB listings lead to clicks and calls. This is why a good image for your post is essential. Below are some of the factors to consider when picking an image.

  • Ensure The Image Speaks About Your Business

While searching for the best image for your GMB post, you should ensure that it speaks about your business in all its aspects. For instance, if you run a muffin business, you need to ensure that your GMB image tells a potential customer precisely that.

Additionally, if you find the perfect image, you should ensure it’s not uploaded in its rawest form with plenty of numbers. Instead, rename it to suit your business. Naming the image correctly can help your customers find you quickly in the search engine, and your website, therefore, gets more click through rates.

  • The Image Needs To Be Authentic And High Quality

The best image resolution for your page is ideally one that exceeds the 4000 pixels mark in both height and width. Using a high-resolution image ensures that your picture still maintains its good quality even after it is resized. You don’t want your profile to have blurry images.

In the aspect of authenticity, if you use stock images for your website and not authentic ones, they may turn potential customers away. Although it is not uncommon for people to use stock photos for their GMB profiles, it is usually frowned upon.
